14,232 - Laurel's Colorful Cats
Michele Bilyeu Salem, OR USA Width: 11" Length: 8.5"
Materials/Techniques: Laurel Burch and other cotton fabrics, machine piecing and hand quilting with colorful stitching and beads.
Artist Statement: Laurel Burch loved color. She loved the
beauty of nature, and the way that color and design could be used to
create amazing and fanciful worlds. I mourn the loss of Laurel Burch
from our world, but I celebrate the use of her fabric with my own sense
of design and color. Each piece is an absolute treasure to me and used
to lovingly create small format art quilts for others.
